Love blossoms between two

Lance's diary entry -
Hello, I am a seventeen year old boy named Lance and I am  bisexual which happens to play a huge part in my life. It all started with an annoying boy named James he was flirty at first sending me winks across the classroom and slipping notes in my locker I never took him seriously I never thought someone like him could ever like to eventually love someone like me so I ignored it all until 4 months ago when I opened my locker to find a note. where he admitted his so-called "feelings" for me and asked to meet outside of the school and I did which lead to him asking me to close my eyes for a kiss so I did and he grabbed a pig and yelled homo which sadly started a new chapter in my life which included and still includes wedgies, getting punched and kicked, verbal slurs and more. I wish I had the guts to say something or reach out but I'm terrified of what James could do.

*1 day later*
Lance woke up to his daily alarm clock playing Hips Don't Lie by Shakira and started to get dressed only to find out that his Mom's car broke down, but he didn't let it keep him down he brushed it off as he did most things "Hey mama I'm fine don't worry ill just walk" Lance said with a gentle grin but on the inside he was terrified the shortcut to school is in an alleyway by Jame's home none of the less he couldn't miss class Lance cared about his grades he was and is a straight A student he couldn't risk his perfect report card having 1 B or worse a C grades were everything to him they were the only thing he felt he had control of in his life, so he straight up was running as fast as he could which ended up with him bumping into an unwanted face guess who James who replied with "Watch where your'e going pretty boy unless you want trouble because if that's the case my friends and I can teach you a lesson." Lance looked terrified and James loved it he felt in control and powerful as Lance got on his knees begging for James to leave him alone honestly it just fed Jame's ego more and ended with James brutally beating Lance up to the point where he was coughing up blood but as he was kicking Lance, Keith walked by the school's bad boy, and he was against bullying if anything it made him angry so as you can imagine Keith stepped in by running to James and punching him in the balls making James collapse to the ground without a word. Keith turned around to see how the timid boy was. "H-hey does this happen to you often?" Lance looked down as he said stuttering, "Y-Yeah I- I'm okay don't worry!" Keith looked at him with a concerned expression, "Lance, It's not okay for someone to treat you like that. What exactly did they do to you?" Lance looked scared as he said stuttering once more "T- they sometimes beat me up b-but I'm fine" Keith looked at him with a gentle and concerned expression, "Lance, it's not okay and you're clearly not okay this needs to stop have you talked to your mom or dad about this?" Lance looked down at the pavement while fidgeting with his sweaty hands as he said "W-well um I — I don't want to put anymore worrying on her my Dad left a few months ago and it's just been her and my 4 little brothers and sisters I j-just can't put any pressure on her" Keith looked worried but tried to hide it with a gentle smile as he sighed "Must you be always this stubborn you are not being a burden to your Mom nor putting any sort of "pressure" on her she loves you, Lance, now let's get to class before we get detention" Lance had a small smirk on his face as he said " O-okay" He has never had someone stick up for him lead alone care about him it was all new but a clear relationship was starting to blossom.
